Roger Buterbaugh served in the US Army as a Human Resources/Personnel OƯicer, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1996. He worked in recruiting, performance evaluations, awards and decorations, personnel actions, assignments and reassignments, personnel records, discharges, and other personnel assignments. His assignments included Honolulu at Schofield Barracks and the Pentagon, Washington, DC. He is the past president of the Coweta Falls Chapter.
He will talk about the history of Freemasonry in the US from the early 1700’s through the American Revolution, and the impact several Freemasons had in the American Revolution. Many key figures of the revolution, including George Washington and Benjamin Franklin, were Freemasons, which helped shape the ideals of the new nation. The values and principles of Freemasonry, such as liberty and fraternity, resonated with the revolutionary spirit and influenced the founding of the United States.
